John Pepper (former CEO of Procter and Gamble) suggests:
Shared purpose, values, goals, and strategies
Celebrate early wins,
Communicate, communicate, communicate
Clear ownership and accountability,
Have a clear compensation system, and
Compete externally but collaborate internally
Never forget that the consumer is boss, pay attention to local cultural sensitivities;
Achieve clarity and alignment on goals and strategies throughout the organization;
Set realistic external goals, then aim to beat them internally;
Don't forget the importance of superior, disciplined execution;
Don't confuse the ends with the means;
Times change, values don't!
